Deep N Beeper is the primary electronic output of the enigmatic 5D Nick, a project that stands as a testament to over two decades of synthesis architecture. While the moniker playfully nods to the seminal drum and bass icon Dom & Roland—referencing the hardware-centric ethos of the genre’s golden age—the project has evolved into a distinct sonic entity that refuses to be tethered to a single BPM.
With a production history spanning 25 years, Deep N Beeper bridges the gap between the analog and the digital. The work is characterised by a “hybridised” fidelity: cold, calculated electronic synthesis fused with the warmth of acoustic guitars and organic field recordings.
The catalog is immense. With over 24 hours of released music in just the last decade, the output is less a discography and more a sprawling archive. From the cerebral, glitch-laden structures of IDM and Trip-Hop found on projects like Escaping the Arcade by Onepacman to the visceral, sub-low pressure of his 140/Dubstep work, the sound is unified by a commitment to depth. Whether navigating dreamy chill-out zones or the kinetic energy of Drum and Bass, Deep N Beeper remains unpigeonholeable—a veteran producer perpetually exploring the outer limits of sound design.

Independent electronic music producer njcmusic today announced the release of their highly anticipated new single, “Purple Portal.” An ambitious instrumental Drum & Bass track, “Purple Portal” is a cinematic journey of contrasting moods, now available across all major streaming and download platforms.
“Purple Portal” begins as a deceptively serene piece. The track opens with a beautifully crafted soundscape, weaving together lush, orchestral strings and poignant, emotive melodies. This initial phase builds an atmosphere of uplifting hope, drawing the listener in with rich textures and soaring melodic lines reminiscent of classic orchestral and liquid DnB. The production establishes a sense of grandeur and emotional depth, creating a bright and expansive world for the listener to explore.
However, the journey takes an abrupt and thrilling turn. In a masterfully executed shift, the composition pivots, pulling the listener from the light and into a sonic vortex. The uplifting elements are systematically consumed by gritty, menacing basslines and sharp, intricate percussion. This section embodies the track’s namesake, creating a palpable sense of being sucked into a darker, more chaotic dimension—the “Purple Portal” itself. The relentless energy and darker mood showcase njcmusic’s production versatility and a powerful command of tension and release.
“With ‘Purple Portal,’ I wanted to create a track that was a full narrative experience without using any words,” says NJC. “It’s about the duality we often experience—the light and the dark. The opening is that pure, hopeful feeling, but the ‘portal’ represents that sudden shift, the pull towards something more intense, unknown, and powerful. It’s a journey through contrasting emotions, all driven by the incredible energy of Drum & Bass.”
“Purple Portal” is a testament to the storytelling potential of instrumental music, offering a complex and rewarding experience for fans of cinematic sound design and high-energy electronic music.
“Purple Portal” is available now on Spotify, Apple Music, Beatport, Juno and all other major digital music platforms. Dare to enter the portal? #dnb #drumandbass #newmusic #electronicmusic#cinematicmusic #njcmusic #purpleportal #dnbnation#instrumentalmusic #newmusicfriday

LONDON, UK – The underground is about to get a wake-up call. “Fuel For The Party,” the explosive debut single from Brixton MC DRNO1, is set for release on Monday, September 29th. Produced by the veteran sound architect NJC, this track marks a significant return to the scene for the producer following a creative hiatus, delivering a sonic landscape that is as gritty as it is infectious.
“Fuel For The Party” is not just a debut; it is a collision of eras. It blends the raw, unpolished energy of South London’s lyrical prowess with the refined, heavy-hitting production techniques that NJC has honed over years in the game.
A Dystopian Vision: The Music Video Leading the charge is the official music video, premiering exclusively on YouTube on Saturday, September 27th.
Directed and produced by NJC, the visual is a groundbreaking hybrid of Generative AI and gritty real-world footage. The video plunges the viewer into a near-future dystopia—a world stripped of natural resources where the “desire to party” becomes a radical act of survival.
Set against a backdrop of a fuel-starved society, the visual narrative mirrors the track’s urgent energy. It explores the lengths humanity will go to keep the vibe alive when the lights threaten to go out forever. By blending synthetic AI visuals with raw camera work, the video creates a disorienting, high-octane aesthetic that perfectly complements the track’s driving rhythm.
The Return of NJC For industry heads, this release signals the long-awaited return of NJC. After stepping back from the limelight, NJC re-emerges with a sharpened sound, proving that the time away was spent refining a vision that is now ready for the main stage. His collaboration with DRNO1 highlights a commitment to fostering new talent while laying down the heavy, intricate production that became his signature.
Release Schedule:
YouTube Exclusive Video Premiere: Saturday, September 27th

Album Title: Classic DnB Cuts (1999–2009) Artist: NJC Release date: Friday 19th September 2025
Description: The Vault is Open.
Classic DnB Cuts represents a decade of low-end pressure and high-tempo innovation. Curated by producer NJC (Nathaniel James Clarkson), this collection gathers 15 definitive tracks from the golden era of 1999 to 2009—a time when the genre was mutating from the raw grit of tech-step into the rolling funk of the 2000s.
Featuring a blend of sought-after dubs and fan favorites, this anthology documents the evolution of the NJC sound. From the rolling, Suffolk-influenced sub-lows to the intricate breakbeat science that defined his releases on labels like L.Plates and Sativa, this is Drum and Bass in its purest form.
Every track has been meticulously digitally remastered for 2025, stripping away the dust of the DAT tapes to reveal the punch and clarity required for modern sound systems.
This album is not just a look back; it is the first strike in a new wave of releases from NJC in 2025.
Includes: 15 Tracks Remastered: 2025 Genre: Drum & Bass / Jungle / Tech-Step

Deep Feed 011 is the latest EP in Deep N Beeper’s bass music exploration EP series.
ADHD is a tribute to the biggest problem in our Neurotype Cooperative!
Ricochet, Hels and Onepacman mull over the matter, all in their own unique ways, while this 100BPM(!) slow tune slaps hard!
Next up DRNO1 is BK with the #cyberfire…Trojan horse’s lyrics hit all the right ports while the instrumental could convert Skynet to be a raver! Also with OG NJC co-producing the sound is tidy AF.
Then Ricochet turns up the heat with his co-remix of an old Deep N Beeper classic: Check-Checkmate. A tribute to his sister Nikki, and our old (lost to America now) friend The Chess Master Chuck, this tune is appropriately deep. Ricochet pinned down the bass lick on guitar early on, but 5D tweaked the synths later and it still slaps as hard.
Next Analogue Path collaborates on a tune with a suitable sample from one of the “DADDYS”: Aphex Twin talking about buying a bank and putting his studio in the old vaults!
And we finish with a NASA remix of Fade To White Light. Here Analogue Path manages to tame 5D and DRNO1’s original tune till it could be played in a spa, hence the name! And don’t we all need to relax sometime?

WATCH now on YouTube – the incredible brand new short film by @5dnreloaded set to the new release Digital Camouflage by @deepnbeeper & wordsmith @whoisdrno1
read the blurb by 5D: “So I have spent (with the tireless help of many others), approx 1.5 years making a short film/music video for @deepnbeeper and @whoisdrno1 called DIGITAL CAMOUFLAGE, #cybercrime to be released exclusively on YouTube.
Directed by myself, produced by myself and DRNO1, and with the indomitable @kitrmac as DOP, I also spent much of that time sat in front of the VFX (and my beast PC was rendering!).
Needless to say I hope you enjoy this labour of love and think about the frankly scary power of big tech.”
Words by Deep N Beeper: “So a few years ago, in the space of one week, three of my friends passed away, two of them from suicide. Needless to say it was a traumatic time. One was Ela Brunel Hawes of the collective We Are Midnight. She made an art exhibit called Harmony where various projected videos responded to the people coming in to view it. It was a smash.
Years later now, her old partner Daniel Shutt has decided to rekindle this spirit in her memory with Harmony 2.0 at The Observatory (56 Old Broad Street, London, where the projected visuals respond to six participants’ brainwaves through a kind of guided meditation. This is for a suicide prevention charity and also will hopefully be a project developed into the future.
I was tasked with making the music and here is the link to that: HARMONY 2.0
We hope you enjoy and go to the gallery if you are in London (it ends Sunday 19th January 2025) and have a chance.
Peace and love and REMEMBER: if you are feeling like you can’t hack it anymore PLEASE reach out somehow for help.”
